The Meltons in Revival at First Christian Church
January 16, 2004
For the past 18 years. The Meltons
have been traveling from coast to coast averaging some 6000 miles per
month. George and David preached 17 revival meetings last year, and the
family sang and conducted the music for those 17, plus 8 more, as well as
doing some 200 concerts for churches, conventions, mens' retreats, ladies'
retreats, and family retreats.
Mark your calendar to hear the
Meltons at the First Christian Church, 100 E 7th Street
Saturday through Wednesday, January 24-28 starting at 7 p.m. each night.
Fifty years and going strong! George
Melton and Southern Gospel Music have been synonymous for over 50 years.
Since his high school days in southern Illinois, George has continued to
use the clear, high range of his gifted first tenor voice in beautiful
proclamation of the Gospel in song.

Among his musical credits come names
like The Ambassadors Quartet; the Claiborne Brothers Quartet, and the
Gospelaires Quartet. In 1967, George and his friends organized "The Gospel
Lads" Quartet. George was with the quartet for nearly six of the twenty
five years they traveled from coast to coast and around the world. For 16
years the family lived in East Peoria, IL while raising their five
children. George and his son David are ordained ministers of the Gospel
and have ministered in churches nationwide.
The Melton Family Singers are made
up of George and his wife Nedra, and one son, David and his wife Krista.
Krista is from Little Sioux, Iowa and met David while in her own solo
ministry. The Meltons travel all but for about 4 or 5 days a month in the
work.
The Melton families' objective is to
be faithful first to God's call on their lives by proclaiming the Word
through the ministry of singing and preaching the Gospel of the Lord Jesus
Christ. As they invest their God-given talents, their testimony is a great
encouragement to families everywhere to be faithful to the Lord and His
Word.
