Congratulations to Matt Miller for
graduating from Colorado State University’s business college cum laude
last Saturday!
The New Year’s Eve game night has
been cancelled.
Mary Louise Huddleston and Sharon
Scott went to see Rick in the hospital over the weekend. They are happy to
report that he is quite a bit better, making great improvements
physically.
Larry and Judy Tuttle had a nice
Christmas celebration Sunday at lunch with Bernice Tuttle, Burl and Cathy
Scherler, and Clovis and Lorene Uptergrove.
Ruth Fees went Christmas shopping
with her sister Mickey Kinney in Colorado Springs on Saturday.
Ron and Ruth Buller celebrated
Christmas last Saturday with Mark and Diane Sanders and Katie, Matt, and
Levi. They had a very nice time together.
Monte, Linda, Kami, and Kirbi Stum
and Henni Wicke went Christmas shopping in Colorado Springs over the
weekend. They also enjoyed staying the night with and having lunch with
Brian and Tammy Myers.
Thursday night, Linly and Sherell
Stum and Felix Henke and Brian Ngai hosted the rest of the Stum clan in
order of Jay’s birthday. They had dinner, cake, ice cream, and enjoyed the
evening.
Sunday night, the Stums enjoyed a
spaghetti dinner at Lane and Tammy Stum’s home in honor of Misty’s
birthday.

After Christmas
I hope everyone’s Christmas
celebrations were wonderful! I would also like to wish you a Happy New
Year. It’s hard to believe that 2004 is upon us!
Let it be known that thanks goes out
to everyone for their great participation in the "Christmas Kids" project.
The gifts and donations were really appreciated. We are truly a part of a
caring community.
Ruth Fees traveled to Colorado
Springs for Christmas. She celebrated with her sister Mickey Kinney and
other family members.
Evan Hopkins and Jen Poore spent
Christmas Eve at Jen’s grandparents Alvin and Venda Poore’s home in
Woodston, Kansas.
Christmas Day, Evan, Cheri, and
Christy Hopkins and Jen Poore went to Denver to have Christmas with Bob
and Lu Schlabaugh and Larry and Patty Schlabaugh.
Larry and Judy Tuttle enjoyed
Christmas morning with Clovis and Lorene Uptergrove and Mike, Rhonda, and
Emily Koehn of Breckenridge.
For lunch on Christmas day, Bernice
Tuttle hosted Larry and Judy Tuttle; Mike, Rhonda, and Emile Koehn of
Breckenridge; Clovis and Lorene Uptergrove; Gary Tuttle; Eric, Linsey, Tre,
and Austin Jensen of Holly; and Tracy and Taylor Gary of Holly.
Craig and Laruie Scott and family of
Austin, Texas, and Mark and Michelle and family of Grand Junction arrived
in Towner at Dick and Sharon Scott’s home Friday. On Saturday evening, Tom
Scott of Tribune and Mary Louise Huddleston joined them to celebrate
Christmas.
Ron and Ruth Buller traveled to
Oklahoma where they had a great Christmas holiday. They spent Christmas
Eve at Ruth’s daughter Kara’s home with Ruth’s other daughters in Oklahoma
City. They also visited family in Fairview, Oklahoma, before returning
home.
The Towner United Methodist Church
had its Christmas Eve service at 4 on Wednesday. Everyone had a nice time
as they heard the Christmas story and sang many hymns.

John Andrews of St. John, Kansas,
arrived Christmas Eve and spent the next four days with Monte, Linda, Kami,
and Kirbi Stum and Henni Wicke.
On Christmas Day, Jay, Tara, and
Savannah Stum; Monte, Linda, Kami, and Kirbi Stum, Henni Wicke and John
Andrews; Lane, Tammy, Misty, and Chris Stum and Sean Harkness, gathered at
Linly and Sherell Stum, Felix Henke, and Brian Ngai’s home for presents
and family pictures. Then, Bruce, Julie, Brooke, Tylee, and Lane Frandsen
and Marlin and Sandra Stum joined them all for dinner.
Monte and Linda Stum and family
hosted Linda’s side of the family Christmas this year. Everyone arrived on
the 27th and left the 28th. Those enjoying presents,
dinner, games, and conversation were Dale and Kay Wingate and Jordyn of
Medicine Lodge, Kansas; Landon Brittain and Ashley of Baldwin City,
Kansas; Cecil, Joane, Blake, Shantell, and Terry Fabian of Russell,
Kansas; John Andrews of St. John, Kansas; and Eileen and Shawn Morris of
Anthony, Kansas.
On Christmas Day, Dick and Sharon
Scott, Tom Scott, and Mary Louise Huddleston traveled to Denver to see
Rick and Jason Huddleston and Kristin Smith.
Friday, Mary Louise Huddleston
hosted Shelley and Mick Minks and family of Illinois. Tom Scott, Dick and
Sharon Scott, and Mark and Michelle Scott and family joined them Friday
for supper. The Minks family left Saturday after dinner.
Dinner at Mary Louise’s home on
Saturday was a major event! Rick Huddleston was able to come home for the
day and Jason Huddleston and Kristin Smith of Denver came, too. Also
present were Craig and Laurie Scott and family of Austin, Texas; Mark and
Michelle Scott and family of Grand Junction; Ian, and Jerene DeBono and
family of Granada; Chris and Barb Dayton, Mike Huddleston, and Larry and
Shelley Huddleston and family, all of Burlington; Kerri Huddleston and
friend of Denver; and Pat Huddleston and family of Stratton. Jeannie
Huddleston and Verna and Ralph Hallock visited the bunch later that
afternoon.
The day after Christmas, Carl and
Freda Schmidt enjoyed having Peter and Anni Kroeker of Washington State
with them for dinner.
Also the day after Christmas, Joe,
Rhoda, Kelsi, and Jacob Boucher of Buena Vista arrived at Carl and
Freda’s. The next day, Jim, Esther, Sarah, and Andrew Caywood of Buhler,
Kansas, arrived as well. Bryan, Dorcas, Michael, Jayme, Amanda, and Abby
joined the group that weekend for a Christmas celebration. The Bouchers
and the Caywoods returned home Monday.

After New Years
Happy New Year everyone!
King’s Daughters is January 15 at
Barb Gitchell’s home at 7. Anyone is welcome to attend.
Game night is January 17 at 7 pm.
The Towner Senior Citizen ladies
enjoyed their monthly dinner Monday. They invited the commissioners and
had a nice time. About fifteen people showed up for the meal.
Floyd and Wynona Barnes have
recently returned from their "holiday jaunt" across the Midwest. First
they traveled to Nebraska to see their daughter Delinda and family. From
there they went to Columbus, Ohio, to visit their son Kindal and his wife
Heather. Then, they and most of the rest of their family met in Peoria,
Illinois, at another son, Travis and Debbie’s house. Before returning
home, they stopped in Kansas City to visit Floyd’s brother Ronnie and
Phyllis.
Bernice Tuttle traveled to
Greensburg, Kansas, on December 31 to attend a memorial service for her
step-brother.
The Stum clan gathered at Linly and
Sherell’s home for food and games on New Year’s Eve. They brought in the
New Year together and had a good time.
