Arkansas River Basin Water Forum AnnouncedJanuary 9, 2004 Mark your calendars for the 10th Annual Arkansas River Basin Water Forum to be held March 4-5, 2004, in Canon City, Colo. The Upper Arkansas Watershed Council is taking the lead in organizing the 2004 event. Speakers at the 2004 Forum will include Colorado Supreme Court Justice Gregory J. Hobbs Jr., Assistant State Climatologist Nolan Doesken, and former newspaper editor Ed Quillen, whose opinions appear regularly in the Denver Post. Due to the continued drought in many parts of Colorado, including the Arkansas River Basin, many Forum presentations will emphasize water conservation. The Forum has been a focal point of current water issues in the Arkansas River Basin and in Colorado since 1995. Both presenters and attendees represent a wide variety organizations and agencies interested in these topics.
