Obituary - Randy Blaine Lafferty, 48

Randy Blaine Lafferty was born to E.A. (Hooley) and Ruby Lafferty, on May 5, 1955, in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado. He was the sixth child born to them. He departed this life on December 2, 2003 in Denver. There never was a person that he met that he did not like. He lived in the same house in Kit Carson with his mother until she fell in 1998 and injured herself, at which time they moved into the nursing home in Cheyenne Wells until his mother’s death in 1999. At that time Randy moved to Burlington where he was a consumer with D.D.I. When he first went to D.D.I. he lived with B.J. and Becky Reese and their family until they moved out of state in 2003. When they left, he moved into a group home, the Martin House where he lived until his death. He was very happy living in the Martin House, where he had a host of friends. His faith in the Lord was one of his mainstays in his life. He loved to go bowling which he was very good at.

Randy was preceded in death by his mother and father, his two sisters and one brother.

He leaves to mourn his passing his two brothers, Jim (Billie) Lafferty of Wild Horse, Curtis (Savana) Lafferty of Denver, 27 nieces and nephews, one uncle and aunt, Curtis and Leona Schrimp of Wild Horse, plus a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Randy Lafferty were held on Saturday, December 6, 2003 at the United Methodist Church in Kit Carson. Rev. Michael Ingersoll officiated the services. Doris Lessenden provided the vocal music accompanied by Marilyn Bullock. The musical selections were: "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "In the Garden". Serving as casket bearers were: Jim Lafferty, Scott Lafferty, David Lafferty, Curtis Lafferty, Mark Randolph, and B.J. Reese. The final committal services were held at the Kit Carson Cemetery in Kit Carson. Funeral services were under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.
