Kiowa County 4-H Council Report

The Kiowa County 4-H Council met on November 24, 2003 at Plainview. The meeting was called to order at 7:10 pm. By President Milly Spady, with the following people present: Jace Roberson, Jessica James, Vincent Koeller, Bruce and Brenda Fickenscer, Dawn James, P.J. Lessenden, Pam and April Turcott, Carol Spady, Debbie Harris, Megan Linder, Wanda Rohlman, and Gail Koeller.

The Council received several thank you notes from members as well as one from Theresa and Denis Weber who received the Friends Of 4-H Award this past November.

PJ reported that the 4-H Banquet served about 158 people. Several reports given on the banquet was that the Haswell Milemarkers did a terrific job and that the food was wonderful and that the awards program was really smooth this year.

Jessica reported the District VI Night Owl had 84 registered members in attendance and a good time was had by all.

Under the New Business anyone with old project or leader books can return them to the Extension office to help cut down on expenses. A caution was given to make sure the books are current.

It was moved and seconded to have ALL Council meetings at Eads at 7:00pm.

 

The Baby Bear Hugs Program has asked the council to have concessions at their Safety Fair in February; it was tabled until our next meeting.

The Colorado Youth Fund Contribution is $2.00 a member with the clubs contributing a $1 for each member. It will be reported at our next meeting if this is in addition to the $5 owed by each member.

Our new concession stand coordinator is P.J. Lessenden, and helping is Pam Turcott.

It was also decided to count only the 4-H years towards the First, Fifth, Tenth etc. Pins. The Cloverbud years do not count towards these pins.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:20pm.
