Wild Horse Roundup

I don’t really know how to start this as we have been overwhelmed with cards, phone calls and visitors. To have so many friends and new friends we have yet to meet, but are getting acquainted through the Wild Horse Roundup. One lady asked about the old Ira Womble’s place, which is practically disappeared with the Wilkerson place where the Tony Hammers live in a new house. We used to spend a lot of time there visiting and playing cards. Lee and I ate lunch on our special day Wednesday in Kit Carson and Friday when Marty and Kirsti was home we did it again. An old friend of mine in Hugo used to drive a truck when I was trucking and we ran together quite often. He sent a card and he thought I did a better job writing than driving a truck (just kidding). Lee and I feel so blessed we can still do the things we do.

This Sunday morning there is a little change in the temperature. It is 3 degrees. The weather Saturday night caused the ladies to cancel a card party they had scheduled at the school house. It didn’t snow a lot, but visibility was pretty low for a while as the traffic was running pretty slow for quite awhile.

There was a road report on TV last night being given by Eric Escudero. It didn’t show his face, it was just his voice. It’s nice that a local person has a job like that.

Lee kept a doctors appointment in Hugo Monday. They told her to come back some time in January, so I guess things are in pretty good shape. I am going to a doctor in Hugo Tuesday, who comes from Denver to carve on my nose. I hope he leaves enough to blow. Darrell Schallenberger is going the same day to have an ear worked on.

Noella Johnson came by Thursday evening and brought us a plate of goodies from the United Methodist Women ladies. How nice to be thought of.

LeeAnn called Saturday which we enjoy and Kirsti really likes it. She said John hurt his shoulder and can’t do the milking so that leaves it up to guess who. She said a parasite had gotten in the young salmon and lots of them are dying which could ruin the next year’s crop so the workers would be laid off.

We are going to Denver Thanksgiving and the weather sounds good so that will be nice.
