Blood Drive to be Held December 9
November 28, 2003
Eads residents are encouraged to
take a break and help save lives with their donation of blood. "Winter is
one of the toughest seasons on our community blood supply. Donations tend
to decline because donors arc busy with holiday shopping and traveling,
but the need for blood increases due to winter accidents. It's important
to remember during this season of giving, that it takes less than an hour
and your donation has the potential to save several lives," says Jessica
Maitland, Vice President of Community Relations for Bonfils Blood Center.
Bonfils Blood Center community blood
drive will take place Tuesday, December 9 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at
Eads High School, located at 210 West 10th in Eads. Please call
Lacy Anderson at (719) 438-2214 for an appointment. Walk-ins are always
welcome.
Bonfils Blood Center provides blood
and blood products to more than 115 hospitals and healthcare facilities
throughout Colorado. Currently Bonfils Blood Center needs to collect 4,000
units every week in order to meet Colorado's needs, as well as maintain a
state of blood supply readiness to support any unforeseen events.
Throughout 2003, Bonfils Blood
Center has been celebrating 60-years of providing services to the Colorado
community.
