Death Notice - Robert Westcott Appel, 52

Robert Westcott Appel was born to James and Marjorie on October 11, 1951 in Washington, D.C. and passed away November 16, 2003 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs after a brief illness at the age of 52.

Robert was a resident of Las Animas. Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 19 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Rev. Sam Jones of the McClave United Methodist Church officiating.

Appel is survived by his spouse Nancy of the family home near Las Animas; daughters: Julie of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Katie of Las Animas; parents James D. and Marjorie S. of Durango; brothers John of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Daniel of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Douglas (Lorna) of Durango, his sister Suzanne (Mike) Collier of Stillwater, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew. Memorial contributions may be made to the R.W. Appel Scholarship Fund in c/o McClave State Bank, P.O. Box 3, McClave, CO 81057 or in care of the Peacock Funeral Home who handled the arrangements.
