Wild Horse Roundup

According to my watch the romance went out of the moon this evening at 6:08. It is now 6:40 and I can see just a little dab of light. It makes me think of when I was a little kid back in the early twenties and there was a total eclipse of the sun. I went downtown to meet my mom where she worked at a hotel, if I remember right it was about four in the afternoon and it turned dark as night and kinda scared this little kid. It was reported that the chickens went to roost.

Last week I mentioned how the turkeys was running around on the highway. There is one that is done running, as I seen on the edge of the road where it had been hit.

I wonder if anybody remembers how radio station KOA used to come on at 7:00 in the morning. This is a long, long time ago. When it came on a fellow would say from border to border and coast to coast KOA is on the air and then he would sing a nice song.

It is now 7:40 and the moon is about romantic again.

Our congratulations to the Cheyenne Wells Tigers on their double over-time win over Swink. I heard most of the second half and it sounded like it was a struggle, but they didn’t give up.

If I understood it right our volleyball girls got third place, which is real good. I think they had a good year which makes us all proud of them.

This weekend Marty and Kirsti painted the trim on the house at the ranch. I helped to hold the ladder for Kirsti. Marty and I put some tin back on her garage that the wind blew off. She was on the roof and I handed stuff to her. We were waiting for them to come fix lunch. Kirsti is going to make egg pancakes.

We had a stranger in Wild Horse this Sunday morning. Billie Lafferty went outside to look for something and under her fir tree was an armadillo. I believe he is a little lost. He must have been dropped off.
