Sheridan Lake Livewires 4-H Meeting Report

The Sheridan Lake Livewires 4-H club
met on November 4, 2003. The following members attended the meeting:
Cassie Harris, Lana Weber, Megan Linder, Shelby Harris, Vincent Koeller,
Katie Sanders, Lauren Weber, Tyler Harris, Natalya Weber, Pete Rohlman and
Gail Koeller.
The Treasurers report was given by
Shelby. Vincent gave the Kiowa County Council Report and he handed out the
District VI Night Owl registration papers to all members present, these
forms are due November 10 at the Extension Office. The Night Owl will be
November 15 at 8:00 p.m. at the Lamar High School.
The Program Cover Contest was
rescheduled for our next meeting.
The 4-H Christmas Party Committees
were appointed as follows, the first name on each committee is the person
head of the committee: Food/Paper Products: Vincent and Gail Koeller,
Lana; Decorations: Lauren, Natalya and Bob Weber, Katie, Lana; Gift
Stealing Exchange: Tyler and Debbie Harris and Lana; Background Music:
Shelby, Cassie and Kim Harris, and Lana. The Nursing Home Party Committee:
Craft Decorations: Megan, Tyler, Pete and Lana; Bingo Committee: Pete will
get back with a date and time.
Our Club voted to send Ronald
McDonald a $50.00 donation. Also, our club decided to collect pop tabs for
Ronald McDonald. Lana Weber was appointed to keep the jug of pop tabs for
our club and to mail them to Ronald McDonald in June. If anyone in our
community would like to collect pop tabs for our club please contact one
of our 4-H members.
Our club has a tree at the Enchanted
Forest in Lamar and every year we decorate it for Christmas. The following
members were appointed to the Decoration Committee: Lauren, Natalya,
Katie, Gail and Lana.
For the Christmas season we decided
to go to Sandhaven Nursing Home in Lamar and do some Christmas Caroling
after decorating the Enchanted Forest Tree. The Committee to get songs and
set a time and date to match the Tree Decorating are: Shelby, Megan,
Tyler, Kim Harris and Lana.

We decided to look into what it
would take to help provide a CPR Clinic for our club and the community.
The following members were appointed to investigate: Cassie, Lana and
Pete.
The Adopted Grandparent Program went
over really good last year so it was decided to choose names again at our
next meeting in December. Pete was appointed to call community senior
citizen members to see who was interested. Pete will then have a list of
Adopted Grandparents to draw from at our December 7th meeting. If you
would like to participate please contact Pete at 729-3369.
The 4-H Project Enrollment Papers
were passed out and asked to be returned at our December 7th meeting.
Please return papers to Gail or Pete.
The next Kiowa County Council
meeting will be November 24 and our club appointed Lana and Megan to
attend as well as Vincent, Gail and Pete.
Our next club meeting has been
changed to Sunday, December 7 at 6:30 p.m. This meeting will be a
potluck provided by the Sheridan Lake Livewires 4-H families for all
the Adopted Grandparents, Grandparents, Leaders and Senior Citizens. Also,
we will be doing a "Gift Stealing Exchange". If you want to participate
the following are the guidelines. Everyone who wants to participate needs
to bring a $5.00 gift, wrap it and place it into a brown paper bag. The
gifts will be placed all together and everyone will get a number as to
when it is your turn. The gift can be stolen only 3 times. We had
tremendously too much fun doing this last year. Be prepared to do some
laughing!!!
