Muriel was born August 16, 1910 in Stevens County, Kansas to Winslow and Cora Belle (Gross) Tilford and passed away October 11, 2003 at Denton Community Hospital in Denton, Texas at the age of 93.
Muriel was a former Towner resident for 58 years. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 18 at the Towner United Methodist Church with Reverend Gary Gooding officiating. Interment followed at the Towner Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Winslow and Cora Tilford, husband Deward Anderson, son Gary Anderson, second husband Elmer Hagins, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Muriel is survived by her son Lou Darrel (Doris) Anderson of Tribune, Kansas; daughter-in-law Shirley Anderson of Denton, Texas; grandchildren Donovan Anderson, Debbie Meltabarger, Gwen McCormick, Doug Anderson, DeAnn Appelhans, Melanie Whittle and David Anderson, 15 great grandchildren and 8 great, great grandchildren.
