2004 Conservation Tree Orders

Order forms for the 2004 Seedling Conservation Trees from the Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS) are now available at the Kiowa County Extension Office and the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS). Past participants in the program have been mailed forms.

Conditions of Sale state that you must own at least 2 acres of land, trees can not be used for ornamental or landscaping purposes, and may not be re-sold as a living plant. Bare root trees are available in multiples of 50 per species only and potted trees are available in multiples of 30 per species.

Two FREE publications are available at both offices. A selection guide gives a description of the various trees available and a planning, planting, and care guide to aid in pre and post delivery decisions.

The deadline for ordering is March 1, 2004 with delivery around mid to late March. Early ordering is suggested as there is a limited supply and high demand for some species. Kiowa County has been allotted 420 Rocky Mountain Junipers and 240 Eastern Red Cedars. This is double the allotment from past years, but both of these are popular species.

Please stop by the Kiowa County Extension Office to pick up an order form or call (719) 438-5321 and we will send you a Tree Order form.
