Sheridan Lake Livewires Install New OfficersOctober 17, 2003 The Sheridan Lake Livewires 4-H Club held their monthly meeting on September 29 at the Plainview cafeteria at 6:00 p.m. This was a potluck for all 4-H members, families, grandparents, adopted grandparents, leaders, senior citizens, and anyone interested in 4-H. The room was decorated in a very nice fall scene and we have Miranda, Lauren, Lana and Natalya Weber to thank for this. Everyone enjoyed a good, hot meal, and then the Sheridan Lake Livewires held their meeting. The meeting was called to order by vice-president Kami Stum. Quinton Weber led the American pledge, while Lauren Weber led the 4-H pledge. Roll call was your favorite leaf, and the following members attended: Kami and Kirbi Stum, Miranda, Lana, and Lauren Weber, Cassie Harris, Megan Linder, and Vincent Koeller. Our leaders Linda Stum and Gail Koeller were also in attendance. Lana Weber read the minutes of the previous meeting, and they were approved. Vincent Koeller gave the treasurer's report. He said he had not yet received the bank statement, since we had to move our meeting up a week. Committee Reports for National 4-H Week were given by the following: Miranda, head of the Decorate at the Front Entrance of School, said she had a board and some pamplets to set on a table and Katie could put the scrapbook she has put together for our club on the table. Gail, head of the School Assembly, said the assembly was set up for Tuesday, October 7 at 8:05 a.m. All members who wanted to participate were to bring their projects that morning. Pete Rohlman, head of the Radio Scheduling, said it was set up for Friday, October 3 at 8:30 a.m. with KVAY and she had a form letter to fill out before we are to go. Old Business was the Road Sign. Each member was asked to set up a day to work with Marvin Koeller to get this done. It was suggested to try to get this done by Thursday, October 16. New Business was the time changes for record books. Treasurer's book is due October 1. Livestock, Secretary, Historian Books are all due by October 16 in the Extension Office. National Report Forms are due October 16. The interviews will be set up for Monday, October 20. Marvin Koeller volunteered to go help judge the livestock record books on October 21.

The Club Cover Contest will be held this month. All members who want to participate need to design a cover for our binders and the club will vote on them at our next meeting. Livestock members were reminded to get their thank you notes into the extension office between October 1-6. Night Owl Party will be in Lamar on November 15. Consent forms will be passed out at our next meeting. We then held our installation of new officers. The present officers held their lighted candles and read the duties of each office as the following officers took over for the coming 2003-2004 year: President - Cassie Harris; Vice President - Lana Weber; Secretary - Megan Linder; Treasurer - Shelby Harris; Reporter - Vincent Koeller; Historian - Katie Sanders; Council Representatives - Cassie Harris, Miranda Weber, Lauren Weber, Megan Linder; Contact Leaders - Gail Koeller & Pete Rohlman. Our new president, Cassie Harris, then adjourned the meeting.
