Wild Horse Roundup

Well they are here. Friday evening Marty and Kirsti went to Denver to DIA and picked up LeeAnn, Jessi and Jenni. They said they had a good flight. In Oslo it got a little close as they had to run, got there as the gate was being closed. It sure is great to have them here and they will be here for three weeks. I suppose I’ll mention them again. It was raining in Norway and a little followed them. It got a little wet Saturday.

Our grandson, Nathan, called and said their daughter who is a little over a year old had an operation for a hole in her heart. He said she came through it real good and is home and doing fine. Berenece had to go back in after her surgery, but is home now.

Thursday Allen Naugle took our calves to Burlington to the sale. They weighed good and sold good and that is what it is all about.

Wednesday evening Mike and Linda Whittington of Billings, Montana visited and her mother Peg Pursley was with them. It makes us feel good when the kids that were raised with ours don’t forget us. They brought some paper one time and said I should write about Wild Horse. I started about when I was born in Illinois and I started more, but can’t seem to get back to it.

We seen quite a few orange caps and jackets on four wheelers looking for the pronghorns today. I talked to some who said they had seen a lot of them, but they are still running free.

I just finished a roast chicken dinner cooked on the rotisserie and lemon pie and candied yams. Next I watched the Broncos and while it was a good game, it wasn’t quite good enough.

Danny and Dianne Myers of Illinois paid us a short visit today. She is the daughter of Hazel Sinnes Gaither. They visited the Vanderworks in Eads. Phyllis is Dianne’s aunt. They were on their way to Security to visit Sinnes’. Danny and some other fellows are going elk hunting while Dianne visits.
