Harold E. Henry was born August 3, 1920 in Daykin, Nebraska to Charles O. and Emma L. (Babers) Henry. Harold was a former longtime Towner area farmer and rancher before moving to Lamar and then to Garden City, Kansas.
A Service of Celebration was held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2003 at the Peacock Family Chapel with the Rev. Linda Bolz of the Garden City Methodist Church officiating. Interment followed in the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Emma Henry, sisters: Ruth M. Clark and Beulah Henry. He is survived by his wife: Minnie Leona Henry of Garden City, Kansas, twin sons: Merle (Carolyn) of Holcomb, Kansas and Merlyn (Kathy) of Miliken; grandchildren: Melissa (William) Savolt of Garden City, Kansas, Jeffrey (Alisha) Henry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; great granddaughters: Taylor Dawn Savolt of Garden City, Kansas and Allison Henry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; step grandchildren: Kenny Kessler of Fort Collins and RayeLynn Kessler of Greeley.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross in care of Peacock Funeral Home who was in charge of arrangements.
