Wild Horse Roundup

It’s Saturday night at 9 p.m. and we have just come home from the Ernie Hammer’s end of summer party. There was a very large crowd with lots of visiting and eating. There was barbeque goat weenie roast and lots of food and desserts. There was a singer and music to enjoy plus a hay ride for anyone to take part in. Someone asked if I could name everyone, but I don’t have enough paper or know the names. It was a great party and everyone thanks the Hammer’s for a nice evening.

We had a nice letter from Jean Pearson Sackett of Cope. She sent us a picture of a plate she got in Wisconsin. It has on it a name that says: "Good things to eat – Briggs & Bryan Wild Horse, Colo." She said it was about 1915. It sounds like a eating place. She also has a plate of Hugo 1910.

The Lonnie Jackson’s went to Salina, Kansas today to meet their daughter, Manda and family, who live in Missouri. I think they were celebrating someone’s birthday.

I see the ice hockey practice got off to a good start. Two guys were having a fist fight, but I suppose they have to practice to be ready for the season.

Marty took Kirsti to Denver Friday to see the dentist about the bridge work in her mouth. They stayed all night with Steve and Deb and came home this afternoon.

A couple of mornings ago a fire felt pretty good in our wood stove. Our pile of wood is pretty small so we are going to have to cut some trees.
