Fall EMT Classes Now Forming

EMT-Three small initials that mean so much. Not only to your community-friends neighbors, and possibly family. But also in the personal satisfaction you receive in knowing that you are making a difference in your community.

If you've ever considered becoming an EMT but have always found a reason to put it off, put it off no longer. Kiowa County Ambulance Service is currently forming an EMT-B class that is slated to start in Mid to End October, the date to be announced later.

There has been a grant written by Cindy Williams, who is the Kiowa County Ambulance Service Director which will fund the majority (if not all) of the student tuition to attend the class.

Cindy is currently on a task force to address the cost of getting EMTs trained, and as a result the tuition will be lower than it has been in the past. "If we get enough students to attend, the classes will take place in Eads and no one will need to leave the County to attend the classes."

For more information you can contact Cindy Williams at 438-5900 or 438-5907. You can also stop by the Ambulance booth at the Kiowa County Fair Sept 11,12 and 13 where there will be sign up sheets and other handouts as well as a water station donated by DeLoach’s of Lamar.
