Farm Bureau to Have Fair BoothAugust 29, 2003 It’s Fair time and the Colorado Farm Bureau would like to encourage ALL Kiowa County residents to attend the Kiowa County Fair. It is a great place to get to visit with friends and neighbors that you may not have seen for some time. The Colorado Farm Bureau will once again have a booth and will be having drawings with various prizes, as well as 3 money prizes of $50.00, $100.00, and $200.00. To be eligible to win the drawings you must know the answer to the following question:

"Of the 2001 Federal Budget, 1% was allocated to Agriculture. In 2002 how much of that 1% was actually allocated for commodities? The answer? 18%. Production Ag (Farming and Ranching) only received 18% of 1%. The biggest percentage of the 1% allocation (71%) went for food programs such as food stamps and school lunch programs. 5% went towards Conservation, 5% for Trade, and 1% under Miscellaneous. You will be able to see the power point presentation (in paper form) at the Colorado Farm Bureau booth at the Fair. Don’t forget the question and the answer and we hope to see all of you there!
