August 14, 3:35 p.m. After obtaining an affidavit for arrest, a warrant was issued for Monty O. Frizzell, 36, of Haswell, for fraud by check, a class three misdemeanor. Bond was set in the amount of $250. (Submitted by Captain Ray)
August 15, 8:54 p.m., 311 W 13th Street, Eads. Wallace Spencer, 51, of Eads, was arrested on a State of Colorado Governor’s arrest warrant, as Spencer was a fugitive from the state of Texas. Spencer was transported to Cheyenne County Jain until extradited back to Texas, and is currently being held without bond. (Submitted by Captain Ray)
August 17, 1:55 a.m., Highway 287 at mile marker 101. Following a traffic stop on Highway 287, Garry Richard Lane, 19, of Garland, Texas, was arrested on a Lakewood Police Department warrant for dangerous drugs. The driver, Justin David Harper, 21, of Aurora, was also arrested on an arrest warrant from Douglas County. Additional charges were filed on Harper in Kiowa County District Court - two counts of unlawful possession of a schedule II controlled substance, a class four felony, and one county of criminal impersonation, a class six felony. Harper is currently being held in the Prowers County Jail on a $10,000 bond. (Submitted by Deputy LeFlore)
