Fickenscher, Spady Top 4-H Fashion Revue

Megan Fickenscher and Milly Spady
were named Senior Champion and Reserve Champion at the Kiowa County 4-H
Fashion Revue held last week in Plainview. Fickenscher modeled a cream
wool coat made for her Clothing project, while Spady wore a basic black
dress sewn in Clothing Unit 21. Both will represent Kiowa County in the
State 4-H Fashion Revue August 16 at CSU-Pueblo.
Intermediate Champion was Jessica
James, modeling black slacks she sewed. Reserve Champion in the
Intermediate Division was Brandy Turcotte. Brandy modeled Capri pants and
a t-shirt embellished with butterflies. In the Junior Division, Champion
Kelcie Smith modeled comfortable, cotton flannel pajamas she made. Reserve
Champion was April Turcotte, who modeled Capri pants and t-shirt with a
patriotic theme.
Champions and Reserve Champions won
beautiful bouquets donated by Teresa’s Maine Street Boutique, and banners
given by 4-H Council.

Twenty 4-H members modeled 27
garments sewn, crocheted, or embellished in a 4-H project. Models not
already named were: Marisa Dixon, Katie Sanders, Megan Linder, Shelby
Harris, Andrea Williams, Ciara Lyons, Jennifer Negley, Dally Lessenden,
Chevaun Glover, Shalyn Laird, Carrie Roberson, Tara Spady, Brandi
Roberson, and Matea Mayo. All won a blue ribbon, meaning they did an
excellent job.
Sheridan Lake Livewires hosted the
2003 Exhibit Day, and Fashion Revue and Awards Program. Members helping
during the Fashion Revue and Awards Program were: Vincent Koeller, Lana
Weber, Tyler Harris, Kirbi Stum, Kami Stum, and Cassie Harris. Club
organizational leaders are Gail Koeller and Linda Stum.
4-H is the youth development
organization of CSU Cooperative Extension. Membership is open to all.
