Progressive FCE Club Meets

Members of the FCE Progressive Club met at the home of Doris Lessenden, Thursday July, 17th. President Maxine Mays shared an article about the traditions of hot dogs and fried chicken. Margie Wilfang gave a presentation on the 4th of July after the ladies had answered roll call about states they had traveled to.

Also in attendance were 4-H’s Milly and Tara Spady and their mother, Carole, Jennifer Negley and mother, Laura, and Shalyn Laird and mother, Aręta along with guests, Jeni and Cheri Weber. Each 4-H girl showed some of their projects in progress. Of special interest were their dresses, Decorate Your Duds garments and other projects. Milly showed a chartreuse and purple window valance for her bedroom and Shalyn showed a jean-pocket-bulletin board, which are parts of their Home Environment Projects. Both girls showed two garments they sewed this summer. Since the last meeting, Tara had completed her jean-flannel lap robe for her Grandmother Spady which was a real hit with the ladies. Jennifer showed her pretty blue dress and her jeans jacket she is decorating with Tiger and Daisy motifs. These young ladies will be showing their projects along with other 4-H members on August 4th at the Plainview 4-H Fair.

The Weber sisters and 4-H members helped the hostess serve refreshments.

The next meeting will be at the Senior Center with Maxine Mays as hostess on August 21st.
