East End EventsJune 27, 2003 I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to the family of Curtis Weber. Curtis passed away Sunday of complications of cystic fibrosis. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11 a.m. at the St. Francis de Sales Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lamar. Burial will follow in the Sheridan Lake Cemetery. Justin Crain, 2001 graduate of Plainview High School and a United States Marine, is in the area visiting for a week or two. Justin just returned from Iraq and will be stationed in California after his leave. There was a welcome home reception for him at Dixon Drug Monday morning and Mike and Renay Saffer will be hosting a come and go reception for him Saturday, June 28 from 2 to 6 p.m. Everyone is enjoying the opportunity to see him and visit with him about his experiences. Brady Butler is home for the week visiting his parents, Dale and Gayla Butler. Ron and Ruth Buller and Randy and Margaret Richardson joined Carl and Freda Schmidt for dinner Sunday afternoon. Dustin Curtis of Center, spent the weekend with Randy, Jan, Jamie, and Trevor Carney over the weekend. Susan Greenfield spent Father’s Day weekend in Sterling with her parents Norm and Virginia Greenfield.

Mary Louise Huddleston and Tom Scott traveled to Kansas City last Monday. While Tom attended meetings in Lawrence, Mary Louise visited Lon and Jo Black. They returned home Friday. Lane and Tammy Stum, Monte, Linda, and Kirbi Stum, Jay, Tara, and Savannah Stum joined Linly and Sherell Stum Sunday evening for cake and ice cream in honor of Tara’s birthday. Lane and Tammy Stum joined Roger and Lorraine Saffer of Eads for a Rockies game in Denver Saturday evening. Bernice Tuttle and Gary Tuttle traveled to Fort Collins Sunday morning to visit Chad and Trista Tuttle. Bernice attended a baby shower in Trista’s honor that afternoon and then she and Gary returned home Monday. The Plainview junior high and high school cheerleaders will be having a bake sale at Wal-Mart in Lamar Saturday, June 28. The proceeds from the event will help offset camp costs.
