Wild Horse RoundupJune 20, 2003 Thursday evening was the K.C. Electric annual meeting in Stratton. I rode with the Schallenbergers. There was a good crowd, but when the name was drawn for the $1,500 they weren’t there. I could have used it as I’m sure a lot of folks could have. Owen Church won $25 credit on their bill. I had a lot of folks speaking to me I don’t see very often. One was a friend of many years ago. I rode home with Marty and it rained on us practically all the way, but we only got 3/10 inches. We will take it anyway. Marty said in Hugo Tuesday evening she had one inch in her gauge. The ladies club had their monthly meeting Thursday. Brenda Hammer was the hostess and there was a good crowd there to enjoy the dinner. Everyone brings something to add to the main course. Lisa Paintin won one of the K.C. Electric scholarships and she gave a talk about her trip to the K.C. Electric camp where they have demonstrations and such. She done a great job and her family was proud of her. She is a great girl and I’m glad to have her for a friend. I sat at the museum in Kit Carson this Saturday morning and with not much to do; I looked for something to read. I picked up a book of what I call the memories of those that went to school at Mount Pearl. I know or knew most of those that put their stories in print. They sure done a good job.

I was talking to Mary Wilson this morning and she was telling me about all her family that is coming this weekend for a family reunion. I told her that from the sound of the crowd coming she might have to restock her store when they leave. I’m glad to hear that Carlene Johnson is doing well after her surgery. I’m a little slow about finding out about things. Lee Ann, Jessi and Jenni called today to wish me a happy Father’s Day. The girls had played soccer today and won two games so they were happy. Lee Ann had been helping John put up ensilage. They have a big round silo inside the barn and she got in it and scatters the ensilage as it comes in. I had a call from Steve and they were all going to a park and have a barbecue. Marty cooked a nice dinner and mowed weeds so that was my Father’s Day gift.
