Regional Tourism Meeting to Be Held

Please join us for a regional tourism meeting on Wednesday, June 25^th, 2003 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Bent’s Fort Inn in Las Animas.

Partnerships are key these days, especially for our small communities, to strengthen our voice and resources as we try to help our communities flourish. We have some very good tourism materials on our individual attractions but by promoting the variety of sites and activities in the area we can encourage people to spend several days in the region. Everyone can benefit!

We've had some success getting the economic development agencies working together towards business retention and expansion. The local art guilds have also come together to talk about supporting our local artists and have named their group the Southeast CO Art Trail.

We'd like to take this one step further and work together promoting tourism in the southeastern Colorado region. At this initial meeting we'd like to discuss ways we can help support each others' efforts; developing regional marketing materials such as brochures and a website; and creating an image of southeastern Colorado for tourists to identify with.
