Norman E. Whaley was born on May 18, 1918 in Kiowa County, Colorado and died on June 2, 2003 at Eads, at the age of 85. Norman was the son of Clifford and Mary Buck Whaley. Norman was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed and loved the land. Norman was married to Lena Sweeney and they had a daughter Reatha Arlene Whaley who preceded him in death in 1955.
Next to the love for his family, Norman loved his John Deere tractors. Norman was an astute farmer, and a very private man. He and his wife Lena spent their lifetime raising crops and caring for the land.
Graveside funeral services were on Thursday June 5, 2003 at the Eads Cemetery with Pastor Donald Lott officiating. Honorary casket bearers for the service were Craig Schomaker, Harvey Kelley, Doug Uhland, Jeff Uhland, Stacey Uhland, Cardon Berry, Les Rittgers and Roger Saffer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kiowa Home Health. Arrangements were handled by Brown Funeral Home.
