William Jackson Jr. was born on February 15, 1951 in Denver, Colorado to William M. Jackson and JoEllen Cherry Jackson and died on May 20, 2003 in Thornton, Colorado after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bill was a family man, and a man that loved others and animals. Bill loved his horse, enjoyed ranch work and an occasional rodeo. Bill loved nature, and always saw the beauty in God’s handiwork. John Wayne was Bill’s hero, and nothing went over as well as a good joke, whether telling or receiving. Bill loved his family, and would go to great lengths for them. In fact, there were probably very few things he would not do, or places he would not go to for his children. Bill was a strong man, yet those who knew him also knew he had a very gentle and caring side to him.
Bill loved to help people, and one place he did this a lot was with the Fraternal Order of Eagles whose motto is "People Helping People". Bill was a member of the Eagles, and enjoyed volunteering to cook, and help with other activities. In 1996 Bill was diagnosed with cancer, and over time he endured 3 surgeries and a variety of treatments. Despite his condition, he continued to be loving and caring with his family and friends.
William Jackson Jr. is survived by his wife Rhonda, his son William "BJ" Jackson III, his stepchildren Ken, Christian, Aaron and Paula, his mother and stepfather JoEllen and Ron Bullock, grandmother Margit Parker, sisters Donita, Dorothy, Debra and Carol, brother James, stepbrothers and sisters Terry, Micky, Ken and Kim, 2 grandchildren Tristan and David as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends also survive.
Memorial services for Bill Jackson were held on Friday May 23, 2003 at the First Baptist Church in Eads with Pastor Steve Puls officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Peace do Porter Memorial Hospital in Denver. Brown Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
