East End Events

School is finally out and summer is here, full blast. The last week of school was very busy. The kindergarteners graduated Tuesday the 20th. Graduates were Quinton Weber, Reagan Lane, Mariah Priddy, Natalie Kroeker, and Thomas Specht. The spring concert was also held that night. Cheri Hopkins did a great job conducting and Sherell Stum played the accompaniment piano wonderfully. Wednesday, several junior high and high school age people attended the youth rally in Tribune, Kansas. They enjoyed a great speaker. Thursday was the last day of school and everyone had a great time. The elementary had a field day in the morning while the junior high and high school students cleaned up around the school. STUCO grilled hot dogs and hamburgers and the community came out for a potluck. After dinner, the elementary students were honored with a short awards ceremony. Then, in the afternoon, the high school and junior high students had a water fight on the football field and the elementary students enjoyed a kite day.

Saturday was eighth grade and senior graduation. The eighth grade graduates were Lana Weber, Becca Specht, and Erin Specht. The senior graduates were Megan Fickenscher, Kaddy Strogies, Katha Greuel, Brady Butler, Montana Barber, Brandon Murdock, Cecil Colgin, and Martin Hernandez. The speaker for the graduation was Lori Shalberg. Everyone enjoyed the speaker and the nice ceremony. Congratulations graduates!

Kami Stum attended Katha Greuel's birthday party Friday at Mike and Sharon Arns' home. Those in attendance include Vicki Specht; Kaddy Strogies; David and Dennill Splitter and family; Susan Specht and children; Eugene and Judy Splitter; and Phil Splitter. Everyone enjoyed meat kabobs, cake and ice cream, and good conversation.

Monte, Linda, Kami, and Kirbi Stum traveled to St. John, Kansas, Sunday evening. On Monday, they attended a family reunion. They returned home Monday night.

 

Dale, Gayla, and Brady Butler had company over the weekend for Brady's graduation. Charles and Mary Jo Randeles of California and many other family members were here to help Brady celebrate.

Lane and Tammy Stum, and Kirbi Stum attended a Colorado Rockies baseball game Friday evening. They had a great time and returned home Saturday afternoon.

Linly and Sherell Stum traveled to Ness City, Bazine, and Ransom, Kansas, on Sunday.

Larry and Judy Tuttle traveled to the Eads lakes Saturday to meet Mike, Rhonda, and Emily Koehn of Breckenridge.

Bernice and Gary Tuttle traveled to Fowler Sunday to visit Bernice's sister. Bernice's nephew and family of Durango were also there as was her niece and family of Fowler. "Imagination is the true magic carpet,"-Norman Vincent Peale
