Amber Kinnamon and Erin and Fisher visited us Thursday evening. I enjoy watching the children playing in their backyard. I want to thank Dony McPherson and Casey Sheridan who came to help us when my hydrant refused to turn off. For us, it was an emergency. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hart are traveling up the East coast. Pretty much dodging the tornados and seeing lots of wonderful sights. Pansy Foxworthy and Melissa Peterson had a nice time in Kansas City except for the tornado that dipped down near them. Praise God, He looked out for them while they were stuffed in a closet with other family members.. Congratulations to Dustin Wyckoff of Arlington and Autumn Adamson of Eads who graduated from Lamar Community College last week. Dustin received his BS degree. Since sympathy to the family of Vada (Gibbs) Mast who lost her adult daughter last week. Virgyln met her cousin, Joyce (Lessenden) Temple formerly of Kit Carson in Manhattan, Kansas Saturday morning. Joyce lives at Warrensburg, Missouri, now. Friends of Charles and Sis Howard are concerned for them this week. But the Howards are so grateful to be living in a small town like Eads with a hospital and helpful friends. As we went to Kit Carson last Tuesday morning we were so happy to see it had rained all the way. The prairies are green with blue flax, yellow buttercups, and white primroses blooming. Bob and Effie Bachand who are here from New Hampshire said this is great to see, whenever they have been here before the landscape has always been brown. James and Corynne Deverman brought Doris a beautiful peace rose bush that has large blooms already. James is looking forward to a train trip to Chicago and New York with his grandparents this summer. Faye Barber spent the weekend in Denver with her children. She took some more quilts for the Shelter for battered women. Esther McCoin also sent up two quilts for children she had made. Saturday evening Michael and Shannon Dixon and children hosted a Mother’s Day dinner for Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dixon, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil A. Lessenden, Mr. and Mrs. Frankie Stoker, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Stoker and children, Doris and me. We had a lot of fun watching Blake try to make Dylan’s toys work. What will kids expect in real life if everything doesn’t light up and make noises? To my family, I deeply appreciate the way they have honored me with flower plants and arrangements and cards They are so pretty I really appreciate them and their visits and the calls from Kristi and Virgyln.
