Town of Eads Offers Out-of-Town Residents Dumpster Service

Beginning May 1, county residents outside of the Town of Eads can sign up to use the trash containers located at the Eads City Shop at 14th and Luther Streets. The Eads Board of Trustees recently approved use of the trash containers by non-town residents, and set the monthly fee at $17.00 per month. The new service was implemented at the request of some county residents who like the convenience of being able to stop in town to deposit recyclable items as well as drop off trash. Non-residents who sign up for the service will be permitted to use the trash containers at the town shop only.

The town has also received complaints from residents about people bringing their trash in to town for disposal, but who were not paying for trash container service. Businesses which have multiple containers are paying for the extra containers for their exclusive use. The business’ containers may not be used by either in-town or out-of-town residents. As in the past, people using the town’s trash containers without paying for the service could be subject to legal prosecution for theft of services.

Anyone living outside of town can not begin using the trash containers at the town shop until they have signed up at Town Hall, located at 110 W. 13th Street. For additional information, contact the Town Clerk’s office at 719-438-5590.
