Obituary - T Lorinda McFarlane 89

Lorinda McFarlane was born June 22, 1913, at Towner, Colorado, to James and Carrie (Morris) Burnett. She passed away Thursday, April 3, 2003, at the Lake Forest Good Samaritan Village in Denton, Texas.

Lorinda was united in marriage to Claude McFarlane on June 15, 1932 at Sheridan Lake. They raised their family and farmed in the Towner area until retiring in 1978. Lorinda was a member of the Towner United Methodist Church and the Ladies Aid Society. Following their retirement in 1978, they moved to Mesa, Arizona where they made their home until moving to Denton, Texas in 1999.

Lorinda was preceded in death by her father, James. W. Burnett of Towner in June of 1935; by her mother, Carrie J. Morris-Burnett of Towner in April of 1963; by one brother, Charles Burnett of Tribune, Kansas.; and by one sister, Ivalee Barnes of Towner in February of 1994.

Mrs. McFarlane is survived by her husband of 70 years, Claude McFarlane of Denton, Texas.; by three sons, Ray (Nellyne) McFarlane of Aubrey, Texas., Glen (Nancy) McFarlane of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, and Arthur (Betty) McFarlane of Pueblo West; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Lorinda Evelyn McFarlane, 89, of Denton, Texas, (formerly of Towner, Colorado) were held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 7, at the Towner United Methodist Church in Towner, with Rev. Gary Gooding officiating and Floyd Barnes read the eulogy. Burial followed in the Towner Cemetery. Casket bearers were Richard Scott, Andrew Myers, Dale Butler, Doug Butler, Will Koger and Paul Koger.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Towner Scholarship Fund in care of Cheri Hopkins, Towner, or through Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel, Lamar, who handling the arrangements.
