Game night will be April 19th at 7 p.m. The Plainview National Honor Society is sponsoring a canned-food drive through the month of April. The collected food will be distributed to local food banks and the Ronald McDonald House. There is a drop-off box at the school as well as at the post office in Sheridan Lake. Call Plainview School for more information. The Plainview senior class is hosting a carnival April 25 from 5-8 p.m. Please feel free to join us and visit the booths and try the concessions. If anyone or any group would like to purchase a booth, call Sharon Arns or one of the seniors at (719) 729-3331. The Plainview junior class is holding a community knowledge bowl meet and soup supper April 24. The soup served will be beef and noodle and creamy potato. The supper starts at 5 and the meet will start promptly at 6. If you are interested in participating either on a team or as a reader, please contact Jamie Crowell or Kami Stum. Thank you! Ruth Fees, Megan Linder, Lauren and Lana Weber, Erin Specht, and Becca Specht attended a "Girls in the Middle" conference in La Junta at Otero Junior College Saturday. The conference deals with introducing and encouraging middle school girls to math and science professions. This was the second year a group from Plainview attended and they had a great time.

Ron and Ruth Buller recently returned home from visiting their parents in Oklahoma. They had a very nice time and were pleased with the visit. Carl and Freda Schmidt and Jayme and Amanda Berggren traveled to Buena Vista Saturday and Sunday to visit Joe, Rhoda, Kelsi, and Jacob Boucher. While they were there, they witnessed Kelsi and Jacob's baptisms. On their way home, they visited Carl's sister Verna and Ike Harms in Canon City. Floyd and Wynona Barnes enjoyed seeing Ronnie and Phyllis Barnes on Monday. Mary Louise Huddleston enjoyed the company of Chris and Barb Dayton and Max and Zach, as well as Jeanie Huddleston of Burlington on Saturday. Bernice Tuttle traveled to Fowler over the weekend to visit her sister Donna Campbell. "Look around at the azaleas making fuchsia star bursts in spring; look at a full moon hanging silver in a black sky on a cold night.
