Pruning and Trimming WorkshopApril 4, 2003 What is the difference between a branch and a stem? How can you improve plant health and safety? Annual pruning of trees cleans out old growth creating a more eye appealing plant. It also helps in disease prevention and control. If it is done properly, pruning adds many useful years to a trees life by removing diseased, insect-ridden, dying, interfering and weak growth. Results will be better flowering in ornamentals, better fruit quality in fruit trees, and healthy foliage and safety. A tree pruning and trimming workshop will be conducted by George Ellicott on April 12 at the Kiowa County Fair Grounds from 9 to 11 A.M. Bring your own pruning equipment.
