Koeller Chosen "Outstanding Junior 4-H Member"April 4, 2003 Ten-year-old Vincent Koeller of Kiowa County has been chosen as the District VI Outstanding Junior 4-H Member for the month of March. The two-year member of the Sheridan Lake Livewires 4-H Club has been involved in market sheep, poultry, shooting sports, entomology, woodworking, and leather craft through his years in 4-H. He is active on the club, county, and district levels, participating in a cystic fibrosis bike-a-thon, car wash, and barbeque; club tours; county and district Fun Festival; working in the concession stand; exhibit day junior clerk; fairgrounds cleanup; and many fundraisers. Vincent serves on many committees, including door prize, decorating, food, and invitation committees. He has served as the treasurer of his club for two years and is also the Kiowa County 4-H Council Reporter. Vincent says he is involved with 4-H because "I get to learn more each year about my projects and to be around new projects that I probably would not do if it weren’t for 4-H." He has learned responsibility, giving back to his community and confidence to speak in front of people.
