Eads Gets Holly, 15-9, in Blustery Game

In a blustery, miserable day with the wind chill factor down in the teens, Eads played host to the Holly Wildcats and used two big fourth and fifth innings to put a stop to Holly’s nice offensive attack. Eads (3-3) got the "W" 15-9. The scheduled JV game was cancelled due to the less-than-desirable weather.

This was a hitter’s game as the pitching and defensive plays on both teams were synonymous with the weather. In fact, there would be a total of 20 hits and 11 errors on the field.

Holly and Eads would stay pace through three innings, each gaining one run. But it would be the fourth inning where pitching struggled for both teams. Steven Gilmore would get the start for Eads but relinquish the mound to Levi Kraft in the top of the fourth as Holly moved four runners around the bases on three errors by Eads. In the bottom of the fourth it would be Wildcat starter Angel Pecina’s turn to give up the mound to Joey Pecina when Eads came up with a seven-run fourth inning behind seven hits and an error by Holly. The bulk of the scoring for Eads came after Gilmore was hit by Pecina and Kraft came up with a double to move both into scoring position. Eagle catcher Dain

Barnett then hit a double to score Gilmore and Kraft and second baseman Marcus Gilmore hit in Barnett with a single. Holly would break in the fifth as seven more runs by Eads put the ball game away. In that inning it was a triple by third baseman Kelly Lindholm that cleared Kraft, Barnett, and Marcus Gilmore off the bases. Offensively for Holly it would be first baseman Lyndon Wagner that came up with two hits and two RBIs.

Eads will be in action at home on Friday when the host league-foe Granada at. 3 PM.
