Drought Impacts on Forage for Horses Discussed April 24April 4, 2003 Drought can impact pastures in many ways. During drought, desirable forage species can be reduced and other less desirable species may become a larger part of the available forage animals eat, resulting in the poisoning of some horses. A seminar on pasture management during drought to address these and related issues will be from 7 to 9 p.m., April 24 in barn "A" at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont. Sponsored by the Boulder County Horse Association (BCHA) and Colorado State University Cooperative Extension in Boulder County, the seminar is free to members of BCHA and a small fee will be charged for all others.
