District VI 4-H Senate Holds Spring Meeting

The District VI 4-H Senate held its spring meeting on March 22. Almost 20 members from Baca, Bent, Cheyenne, Kiowa, Prowers, and Otero counties were in attendance. The main item of business was the election of 2003-2004 officers, who will take over at the State 4-H conference in June. The new officers are as follows: President, Susan Kasza, Bent; Vice President, Josh Wittler, Baca; Secretary, Terrie Perue, Otero; Treasurer, Randy McEndree, Baca; Reporter, Daniel Kasza, Bent; and Executive Committee Members, Amanda McEndree, Baca, and Andy Hartless, Otero.

Other business included county reports and reports on district activities such as 4H Camp, Interstate Exchange, and NightOwl. Members also reported on state activities including Leadership Development Conference and YouthFest. A decision was made to hold a District Fun Day on May 3rd and to continue highlighting an outstanding junior member each month.

 

Following the meeting, the District Fun Festival allowed about 45 members from across the district to showcase their talents, including dancing, singing, playing an instrument, performing a play, and giving a speech.
