Gooden and Richardson to Play in CCGS Games

Tiffanie Gooden and Treva Richardson, senior guards on the Eads High School state championship basketball team, have been chosen to participate in the Colorado Coaches of Girls’ Sports (CCGS) All-State Basketball Games. The Games will take place on Sunday, March 23, at Broomfield HS in Broomfield. The first game starts at 10 AM and will represent athletes from the 1A division; 2A division at 11 AM; 3A action starts at 12 PM. The 4A game starts at 1 PM, while the 5A game will get under way at 2 PM.

CCGS began sponsoring an All-State Basketball Game in 1978 to provide girls a showcase for talent. Each senior athlete is nominated by coaches in her league; while coaches representing all the leagues make the final selection of 68. Players are chosen based on talent, dedication, team play, and leadership.

Both Gooden and Richardson were four-year starters for the Eads Eagles and helped lead Eads last year in the 2A state tournament to a third place finish; this year they were both vital in the Eagle’s first state championship since 1994. Both were named to the first tournament team for the state tournament, and Richardson was named MVP of the tournament.
