Congratulations to Vicki Specht and Miranda Weber; Kami Stum and Katha Greuel; Jayme Berggren; Trey Harris; and Erin Specht on advancing to the Colorado Science Engineering Fair in Ft. Collins in April. These teams and individuals placed high enough at the Southeast Regional Science Fair to be able to advance to the state fair. Many other Plainview Students attended the regional fair and won many different awards. Congratulations to all!

The Sheridan Lake Livewires 4-H club participated in the Kiowa County Fun Festival last Friday. They performed a one-act play called the "Fun Time Fashion Show." They were the only ones in their category and they received a blue so they advance to the regional Fun Festival March 22 at Otero Junior College in La Junta.

Thursday night, the Plainview Accountability Committee held a lasagna supper for the community. Several community members enjoyed the meal; and, afterwards, enjoyed the elementary basketball game. 

Game night will be Saturday night at the Towner Hall at 7 p.m.

Susan Greenfield enjoyed dinner with Evan and Cheri Hopkins Sunday afternoon.

Mary Louise Huddleston and Sharon Scott went to Harper, Kansas, to visit Mary Owen in the hospital. They stayed all weekend.

 

Carl and Freda Schmidt hosted Harry and Lydia Lightener for dinner Tuesday evening. Harry and Lydia are missionaries with the Latin American Missions in Costa Rica.

Monte, Linda, Linly, and Sherell Stum attended both the regional science fair and the local Fun Festival this past week.

Kami Stum threw a surprise birthday party for Vicki Specht Thursday evening. Those there to help celebrate included Megan Fickenscher, Travis Doty, Michael Berggren, Kaddy Strogies, Jamie Crowell, Cassie Harris, Miranda Weber, and Katha Greuel. They enjoyed foosball, cake, and ice cream.
