East End EventsJanuary 31, 2003 I hope everyone was happy with the outcome of the Super Bowl. I know most people in this area were rooting for Tampa Bay just because they didn't want Oakland to win! I heard one person comment that even though they were for the Buccaneers, they truly thought the Raiders would win. I would say that more than one person was surprised on Sunday. The 4:12 Youth Group enjoyed a progressive dinner Sunday. They started out at 1 p.m. at Barb and Pastor Larry Gitchel's house for some appetizers. They enjoyed chips and several different types of dip as well as mini chili rellenos. From there, they traveled to Judy and Eugene Splitter's home for the main course. The group had their choice between hard or soft shell burritos or tacos. After the main course, a few people played a board game and others played outside. Around 4 p.m. the group made its way to Michael and Sharon Arns' house for dessert and the Super Bowl. They also enjoyed movies, Twister, and air hockey. A good time was had by all. The teens would like to thank everyone that made Sunday so much fun. Linly and Sherell Stum traveled to Colorado City Saturday for business. Susan Greenfield, Ruth Fees, Tom Pape, Johnny Holcomb, Chuck and Joan Hawkins, Rodney and Debbie Shivers gathered at Cheri Hopkins' house for a Super Bowl party on Sunday.
