Weisbrod Hospital Offers Scholarships

Weisbrod Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home employees are offering two $500 scholarships. The scholarships, established in 1996, are offered to Kiowa County residents in need of financial assistance to pursue a degree in the Health Care field.

Previously, the scholarship was only offered to Kiowa County seniors, but the employees have voted to extend eligibility to graduating seniors of Kiowa County schools, residents of Kiowa County that have applied for this scholarship previously but were turned down or to residents of Kiowa County beyond traditional college age that are planning to further their education.

The applications must be filled out completely and correctly in order to be eligible for the scholarship. Several documents are required to be submitted along with the application and an instruction sheet is included to explain these requirements. Applications may be obtained at Weisbrod Hospital and must be returned by April 1, 2003. The employees of Weisbrod are hoping that scholarship applicants may one day return to Kiowa County to live and work.
