Following is the award winning poem:

What Is A Family?

A family is the backbone of a nation,

Its members and size vary.

A family made of a man and woman is in fashion,

Especially when they marry.

A family is the backbone of a nation,

Its members and size vary.

An extended family makes a pretentious station,

Which makes everyone merry.

A family is the backbone of a nation,

Its members and size vary.

There are single parents, grandparents with children, and adoption,

Most get products from a dairy.

A family is the backbone of a nation,

Its members and size vary.

There natural parents and step-parents as relation,

Blending like Champagne or Sherry.

A family if the backbone of a nation,

Its members and size vary.

No matter the make-up, it needs to remain in fashion,

So nations stay strong, not weak or wary!

Margie also submitted the following poem:

Life Is Like A Rainbow

Life is like a rainbow;

The red is for the love all around.

Orange is for the bright sun’s glow;

The yellow is for the flowers that abound.

Life is like a rainbow;

Green is for growing friendships all around.

The blue is for peaceful waters flow;

Purple is for pure ideas to be found.

Life is like a rainbow;

Lavender is for pure feelings.

Some see life as gray or low

While others see colors and meanings.
