Last Week’s Column

Thursday the Kit Carson Bank gave a dinner for their senior customers, and I was told it was a very good dinner and there was a very good crowd. Lee didn’t feel like going, so I went to Lamar with Marty, who had taken the day off to go shopping. I’m sorry I missed it.

Marty’s office had a little party Wednesday afternoon. They exchanged Christmas gifts and some eats and just relaxed for a little while. I made a batch of fudge to send and Marty said they seemed to enjoy it.

We have really enjoyed all the cards and letters we have been getting. We catch up on what has been happening with friends and family over the past year.

This weekend has really been a fun time for us. Our son, Steve, rents a 15 passenger van and they all pile in along with food, guitars and presents. With all the stuff they bring, I don’t know where they all sit. Amanda’s husband, Craig, didn’t come till Saturday afternoon as he had to work. They had to go home Saturday night as he works on Sunday. He is a security officer. We brought in a long table in our living room so we could all eat together the good meal Marty (with some help) fixed. Steve and Nathan got out their guitars and we sang Christmas carols and then passed out the presents. It was fun to watch the little ones rip and tear.

We talked to Lee Ann and kids, so the whole family got to talk and exchange greetings. They will all be going home kinda early today as I think they have something going on in Denver. One Christmas present I got was the guys sawed most of the rest of the wood and split what needed it.
