Sheridan Lake Livewires Visit the Nursing HomeJanuary 3, 2003 On December 20, 2002, the Sheridan Lake Livewires 4-H Club went to the Weisbrod Nursing home in Eads to spend some time with the residents. Those members that participated were Kami and Kirbi Stum; Vincent Koeller; Miranda, Lana, and Lauren Weber; Megan Fickenscher; Brittany Splitter; and Blaine Shivers. Donna Splitter, Linda Stum, Bob Weber, and Gail Koeller accompanied the members. When we first arrived, our group distributed some homemade paper Christmas trees to all of the residents. We hung the trees next to the residents' nametags by their doors. Then, the members and residents settled in for a couple of games of Bingo. There were cash rewards involved and one could feel the tension in the room toward the end of each game. The black out winner received $5 and each individual winner won $2. Popcorn and punch was provided.

Our club would like to thank Weisbrod for allowing us to spend time at the nursing home each year around Christmastime. We enjoy the Bingo games and feel so welcome. This year was no exception! |
