I hope everyone's Christmas was great! It's hard to believe that the New Year is here. Most schools start again on the 6th. The Lady Hawks start off the New Year with their first home game against Cheraw on Friday, January 10. They play at Manzanola the day before. Come out and support the Lady Hawks! Their record is 3 and 2.

Kami Stum is hosting a Close to My Heart stamping party January 4, 2003, at 2 pm. The party will be held at the Towner Hall. All are welcome. RSVP at 727-5461.

On December 22nd, Mike and Julie Huddleston; Rick Huddleston; Larry, Shelly, Brett, Brenden, and Shelby Huddleston of Burlington; Dixie and Steve Scott of Bloomfield, New Mexico; Ian, Jerene, Gina, and Tori DeBono of Granada; Chad DeBono of Lamar; Courtney Holt of Lamar; Tom Scott of Tribune, Kansas; Sharon and Dick Scott; and Donna and Jason Huddleston and Kristin of Colorado Springs were all at Mary Louise Huddleston's house for the holidays.

On December 28, Craig and Lori Scott, Mykyla and Parker of Austin, Texas; Chris and Barb McKinister, Max and Zach of Burlington; Jason Huddleston and Kristin of Colorado Springs; Tom Scott of Tribune, Kansas; Ian, Jerene, Gina, and Tori De Bono of Granada; and Ryan, Taylor, and Rylie Scott of Grand Junction all visited Mary Louise Huddleston at her home.

Susan Greenfield spent last week at her parent's home in Sterling. On Christmas Eve, Cassandra and John Knight joined them.

Jen Poore spent Christmas week with Cheri, Evan, and Christy Hopkins.

Ron and Ruth Buller recently returned from Oklahoma. They celebrated Christmas down there with some of their family.

Monday evening, Ron and Ruth Buller were joined by Mark, Diane, Katie, Matthew, and Levi Sanders to celebrate Christmas.

On the 20th, Floyd and Wynona Barnes were joined by David and Regina Barnes and their family and Ray and Jessica Quinones and Estrella to celebrate Christmas. Floyd and Wynona kept David and Regina's kids with them until Monday. Monday, they dropped them off in Goodland, Kansas, on their way to Jon and Delinda Mohrmann's home in Nebraska. They spent Christmas day in Nebraska and on that next Friday, they were all joined by Travis and Debbie Barnes, and Roland, Lisa, and Quinn Barnes. They returned home Sunday.

Jim and Dan Specht, both of Bixby, Oklahoma, joined Leo and Kathy Specht and family for Christmas.

Vicki, Becca, and Joanna Specht and Paul, Jon, and Brittany Splitter spent some time in Tyler, Texas, with Steve, Sarah, and Tate Rybacki.

 

Rick and Mary Louise Huddleston traveled to McCracken, Kansas, Saturday morning to attend a cousin's 80th birthday party.

Carl and Freda Schmidt enjoyed the company of their three daughters and their families over this holiday season. Joe and Rhoda Boucher, Kelsi and Jacob; Jim and Esther Caywood, Sarah and Andrew; and Bryan and Dorcas Berggren, Michael, Jayme, Amanda, and Abby were in the area from December 21 until the 24.

On Christmas Day, Carl and Freda hosted Pastor Larry and Barb Gitchel, Wes and Eleanor Kroeker and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Loewen. They enjoyed visiting and playing Uno.

On Christmas Day, Tom and Dick Scott traveled to Denver to pick up Ryan, Taylor, and Rylie of Grand Junction. Their parents and little sister, Mark, Michelle, and Brianna joined them Tuesday. Craig and Lori Scott and Parker and Mikyla of Austin, Texas, were in Towner visiting Dick and Sharon Scott from the 27th through the end of the month.

On Saturday, December 21, Sherell, Linly, Jay, Savannah, Monte, Linda, Kami, and Kirbi Stum; and Tara Carson enjoyed a dinner at Lane, Tammy, Misty, and Chris Stum’s home. The dinner was in honor of Misty and Jay’s birthdays.

On the few days we received some snow, Chris and Kirbi Stum did their best to snow board in southeast Colorado. Thankfully, the 4-wheeler added some excitement.

The whole Stum clan and Tara Carson gather and Linly and Sherell’s house on Christmas day to have dinner, take pictures, open presents, play games, and watch movies. They had a fun day celebrating Christmas.

On the 22nd, Bernice Tuttle hosted Eric, Lindsey, Tre, and Austin Jensen of Holly; Kim and Tim Freeman of Trinidad; Mike, Rhonda, and Emily Koehn of Breckenridge; Clovis and Lorene Uptergrove; Gary Tuttle; and Larry and Judy Tuttle for dinner and a gift exchange.

Larry and Judy Tuttle hosted Christmas for Clovis and Lorene Uptergrove; Bernice Tuttle; Mike, Rhonda, and Emily Koehn; and Kim and Tim Freeman.

The day after Christmas, Clovis and Lorene’s son Joe and his wife Theresea came to visit. They left this past Monday. Sunday, they all were joined by Robert and Marilyn Hopkins, Larry and Judy Tuttle, Bernice Tuttle, and Gary Tuttle for dinner.
