Obituary - Maynard Allen Warne, 62

Maynard Allen Warne was born in Villisca, Iowa, on October 2, 1940 and passed from this earth on Thursday, December 5, 2002, at the age of 62 from Multiple Myeloma Cancer. His parents were Samuel Raymond and Eva Marie Warne. He was the youngest of five boys and lived most of his younger life in Pueblo. Maynard was united in marriage to Joyce Ann Hollis for 41 wonderful years on November 12. To this union, two children were born, Sandra Lynne of Riley, Kansas and Charles Ray (Chuck) of Aurora.

They lived in Pueblo for six years where he drove a semi-truck for a plumbing company. They then moved to Colorado Springs where he was a sales man for another plumbing company. In the summer of 1972, they moved to Craig where he worked for a gas company until the Colowyo Coal Company started operations between Craig and Meeker. Maynard set up and ran the warehouse, became purchasing agent and buyer and retired in 1996. After a year of retirement in the Craig area, they decided to move back to the family farm, where Joyce grew up north-west of Eads. Five years passed and many friends were made. Maynard never knew a stranger. He made friends quickly and was always eager to help out whenever he could. He loved to hunt, fish, and go camping. He didn’t have much time with his own father, so he made sure that his children had a lot of time with their father. He was a very loving husband, a wonderful father, and good friend to many. His family wants you to remember him the way he lived his life. He was a born again Christian, and was ready to see his family on high.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1960 and his mother in 1983, his brothers, John Lowell (1997) of Iowa, Robert Paul (1987) of Kansas, Raymond Clark (2000) of Pueblo and a sister Pauline (1943).

He is survived by his wife Joyce of Eads, daughter Sandra (Mike) Mosher of Riley, Kansas, son Charles (Bridget) Warne of Aurora, five grandsons, two granddaughters, a brother, Clarence of Apache Junction, Arizona, mother and father-in-laws Harvey and Clara Hollis of Eads and Yuma, Arizona, brother-in-law Philip (Jean) Hollis of Fruita and a host of nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

Maynard wanted to be cremated and his ashes spread on the family farm and the mountains that he loved. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
