Obituary - Eddie Dunlap, 78Eddie Dunlap, 78, of Caldwell, Idaho, went to meet his Heavenly Father, Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at a Caldwell hospital. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2002 at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. Following the services in Idaho, Eddie was brought to his hometown of Eads, Colorado for a funeral service on Sunday, November 10, 2002 at the First Baptist Church. Eddie’s former pastor Wayne Spencer officiated the services as well as Pastor Steve Puls. Mrs. Love Liebl provided the prelude and postlude organ music and accompanied the congregation as they sang "He Lives" and "The Lily of the Valley." Final committal services were held at the Eads Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Eddie was born February 5, 1924 in Eads, Colorado, to Oscar and Abbie Cotter Dunlap. He was reared and educated in Eads and married Donna Hoffmann on May 19, 1945 in Eads. Eddie was a Colorado cattle rancher for most of his life, active in the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association and received a cherished award as Lifetime member of the "Bent-Prowers Cattle and Horse Growers Association." He was a director for Producers Livestock Marketing Association, Board of Directors for Bent-Prowers Cattle and Horse Growers Association, Chairman of the Brand and Theft Commission, Director of Lower Arkansas Valley Council of Government, Director of the Southeastern Colorado Economic Development District. He served in Baptist churches as Deacon, a member of the Board of Trustees, building committees, mission committees, and helped established missions in Colorado and Poland. He was always interested in politics, and served as a delegate to the National Republican Convention. Eddie and Donna lived in Texas for eight years working with children with special needs. They moved to Caldwell, Idaho in 1994 to be near their daughter and family. He is survived by his wife, Donna of Caldwell; three children, Charlene and Lynn Brown of Caldwell; Joe and Terri Dunlap of Chehalis, Washington; and Franci and Gary Crowder of Buena Vista, Colorado; eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his three sisters: Helen Mundell of Walsh, Oscarina Schreivogel of Burlington and Benny Lou Kashuda of Forked River, New Jersey as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives to include his sister-in-law Gerry Dunlap, formerly of Eads. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Dorothy Jackson and Catherine Adams, two brothers, Merwin and Glen Dunlap, and a granddaughter, Heather Dunlap. |
