Death Notice - Donald L. Root, 64

Donald L. Root of Lamar, was born December 2, 1937 at Chivington, Colorado and departed this life on Thursday, November 7, 2002 at his home with his family by his side.

Funeral services for Donald were held Monday, November 11, 2002 at 10 a.m. at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roy Gueswel and Rev. LeRoy Guyette co-officiating. Burial followed in the Eads Cemetery.

Mr. Root was preceded in death by his father Abraham Dickie Root of Lamar on March 1, 1993.

Don is survived by his wife of 39 years, Elva L. Root of the home in Lamar; by his two children, Lorna McCaslin of Lamar and Richard (Mollymari) Root of Fountain; by two grandchildren, Dalton and Samantha Root of Fountain; by his mother, Mae Root of Lamar; by three sisters, Ellen (Wayne) Clausen of lamar, Marjorie Osborn of Lamar and Pearl Hainer of Eads; by one brother, Dickie (Juanita) Root of Wakefield, Kansas; also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and a host of friends.

Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Lamar Community Nazarene Church or to the Lamar area Hospice, either directly or through Valley memorial Funeral Chapel who was in charge of arrangements.
