Obituary - Catherine Oswald – 88

Funeral services were held October 25, 2002 at St. Augustine Church in Kit Carson for Catherine Oswald with Father Khanh officiating. Catherine passed away at Cheyenne Manor Nursing Home on October 22, 2002 in Cheyenne Wells. She was born on March 22, 1914 to Cornelius and Mary Seaman in Spalding, Nebraska. She was the youngest of nine children. Catherine attended the Spalding Academy through the 12^th grade. She was married to Ted Oswald on October 18, 1932. To this union were born seven children.

Catherine was an avid charter member of the Busy Bee Club until it’s disbandment in 2000. She really enjoyed bingo and watching Bob Barker on the television. Both of which she passed her time with in the Manor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sons, Joseph and David, daughter, Sharon, six brothers and one sister. Catherine is survived by her sons, Edward (Lorna) of Kelowna, Canada; Lawrence of Peyton; Charles (Kellie) of Kit Carson; daughter Catherine Ann (Dennis) Slattery of Colorado Springs; 22 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and her sister, Anna of Spalding, Nebraska.

Burial was held at the Kit Carson Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers were her grandsons and her granddaughters as honorary pallbearers. Brown Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
